FORMATS: The Battle at Bellewood will feature 5 formats, each chosen to provide an exciting & competitive event for all participants.
Individual: Individual stroke play with full handicap.
Monster Match Play: Individual players match cards against every other golfer using full handicap differentials. Results are tabulated using a GTT Events proprietary computer program.
Better Ball of Partners: Best ball of twosome with full handicap. Players create their own team.
Stableford 2 Ball Total: Combined points of twosome with points awarded to individuals based on score with full handicap. Players create their own team.

Sunbird Challenge: Best 3 balls of foursome with full handicap. Players create their own team. Only 2 players from a team will be paired together.
PINK DOG CUP: A season long competition with participants earning points at each event. Points will be awarded to individual players at each event as determined by order of finish and final season-long results will be calculated using the player’s nine (9) highest finishes. Minimum Value – $10,000.00

ELIGIBILITY: Participation in a Battle at Bellewood event is open to any male or female golfer, amateur or professional.
RULES: U.S.G.A. Rules of Golf 2012-2015 govern all play and will be strictly enforced. The ball is to be played as it lies and all putts must be holed. It is each player’s responsibility to be familiar with the rules and to protect the entire field if a breach is observed. If a question arises and cannot be answered immediately, a provisional ball should be played, and the matter brought to the attention of the Battle at Bellewood staff for final disposition. The One Ball Rule is waived.
HANDICAPS: Amateurs will be given an initial Battle at Bellewood handicap based on their U.S.G.A. Index or other verifiable handicap. Professionals will play their first event at scratch. Players will have their handicaps reviewed weekly and adjustments made as follows:
1 Event Played: Lowest of original handicap or event handicap.
2-4 Events Played: Average of 2 lowest event handicaps including original.
5-6 Events Played: Average of 3 lowest event handicaps including original.
7 Events Played: Average of 4 lowest event handicaps including original.
8 or More Events Played: Lowest 4 handicaps of previous 8 events.
REGISTRATION FEE: $0: There is no registration fee but all players must complete the Battle at Bellewood Registration Form.
PURSES AND AMATEUR STATUS: Purses are paid in cash. Players wishing to protect their amateur status will be paid by VISA gift card and are required to sign a “Waiver of Cash Prizes”. “Games” winners will be paid in cash. Note: Players who earn $600.00 or more per year in purses will receive Tax Form 1099.

ENTRIES: Players will be sent an e-mail as a reminder of the upcoming event (see Schedule for details). Entries may be made by reply e-mail, phone, text, or fax and must be received no later than 12:00 noon of the day prior to an event. The tournament entry fee will be all inclusive and must be paid in cash at the event. Optional games (“skins” and “closest-to-pin”) will be additional. Starting field will be limited to 96 players.
CHAMPIONSHIP: Battle at Bellewood participants must play in at least eight (8) regular season events to qualify for the season ending Championship.
STARTING TIMES: Final pairings and starting times are assigned by the Committee and will be e-mailed to players by 8:00 p.m. the day prior to the event.
PACE OF PLAY: 4 HOURS 20 MINUTES. Play “ready golf” and putt continuously.
WITHDRAWALS: A player who enters an event and fails to appear without properly withdrawing will be responsible for payment of any site fees or expenses charged Battle at Bellewood, and will not be permitted to enter any future event until such obligation is satisfied.
DRESS CODE: Soft spikes are mandatory.
RAIN POLICY: Events will not be cancelled because of weather conditions. In the case of inclement weather the Head Professional at the site, or his designee, will determine if players need to leave the course. In such an event, mark your ball and leave the course immediately. If all players have completed nine (9) holes a tournament will be considered official. If minimum play cannot be completed, all players will be given a credit for a future tournament minus course fees.
“ONE BALL” RULE WAIVED: The “one ball rule” is not in effect, but a player must inform a fellow competitor when a ball is being substituted. (Penalty: Disqualification)
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES ARE PERMITTED.
ETIQUETTE: Players are expected to observe golf course etiquette. Club throwing and loud & abusive language will not be tolerated.
